Imagine he had won the triple crown in peak of baseball popularity - it would've been insane. Alas, when it happened last year it didn't make a even make huge splash.

I remember growing up (in the 80s and 90s), the triple crown in baseball would've catapulted a player to God-like status nationally. Commercials everywhere, cereal boxes, etc. 2 triple crowns in a row - they would've made statues out of him

Who gave a shite about him winning last year?

Only die hard baseball fans care. Pretty obvious your one of them with Biggios name and picture for your profile

Yeah that's cool and all but what is his WAR?

That's the only stat that matters.

I hope he wins it by 1 HR and thanks Michael Bourn for the help.

Outside of Barry Bonds, I dont think I have ever seen anyone hit like he is currently. He hit one of the end of the bat on an excuse me swing last night that ended up in the corner for a double.

Guys. I'm only 23 and I can see that this statement is true and is probably even an understatement. Every single year we'd hear "oh it's been ____ years since the last triple crown. Bob do you think we'll ever see one again?" "Jesus no Larry those are impossible now. Would be the greatest accomplishment in today's day and age."

Then a guy wins it and nobody says shite. Hell he HAD to get the triple crown just to win the MVP. After 24 hours nobody have a shite.

He'll win BA and RBIs IMO. We'll have to see about HR

Maybe people don't care because batting average and RBI aren't the best stat.

Don't get me wrong it's really impressive, but I think of Miguel Cabrera as the best hitter in the AL, not 2012 AL Triple Crown winner
