Workout in Brooklyn for Nets prospects today. Some of the tweets about D.J. Stephens are amazing.
6'5, 180-pound power forward that may not even get drafted, but that shite's crazy.

Here at Brooklyn Nets workout. My favorite @DdotJAY30 is here. Measured with a 46" max vert here. Highest EVER measured by NBA

James Ennis pump fakes @DdotJAY30 jumps completely OVER Ennis. Crazy!!!!

Someone might draft D.J. Stephens just for the sheer entertainment value in practice. Just fouled someone's head with the back of his knee

D.J. Stephens just jumped over the entire media table without even trying seemingly. Thought my laptop was done for but he made it look easy

Hell, I would draft him in the second round. You never know what playing basketball full time would do to a kid that is that athletic.

His final numbers from Brooklyn today:
40" no-step vert (top)
46" max vert (top)
2.98 sprint (#3, but top guy above 6'0)

With a running start he can probably put his chin on the rim with those numbers. Hard to believe he isn't really good at basketball, even if it is just being incredible on defense and rebounding.

So does this mean football players are more explosive than basketball players as far as jumping goes? It seems there are multiple guys each year at the NFL combine that has 40in+ verticals.

First of all there are way more football players then basketball players. Second, the basketball players are way taller for the most part on average. The taller you are the harder it is to have some insane vertical. For this guy to be 6'5 with a 46 inch vertical is pretty crazy. I'd guess Spud Webb could jump off the ground higher then this guy though with a running start.
