Can they make one room into a Thunder Dome?

Asbestos, Liability, SEC / NCAA Rules, Campus Rules, Security, Privacy, Funding, Accessibility, etc.
I can keep going if you want.

Tiger Stadium continues to expand with newer seats/areas, but the general rank and file fan continues to get the same outdated and inadequate bathroom facilities that have plagued the stadium for decades. Many of the restrooms are too small and do not handle the normal large traffic flows associated with a sold out crowd.
my first thought when I found out about the SEX expansion..."but are they going to fix our 3rd world bathrooms?"
fix those frickers before they spend a dime on anything else. I try to hold it now instead of having to slosh through 6" of piss just to pee. frick all that noise

Part of the problem is they would be part of the stadium, therefore under the rules of lsu, ie, no alcohol. The uppers get away with this bc they aren't part of tje stadium, they are separate intities.
My seats are in the EU's and I can't bring in alcohol.

All this money the SEC is getting from these national championships, you'd think we'd have a little extra coin to do something like this.
Guess I'll watch y'all keep cheering other SEC teams for no reason then.

It's not asbestos.
It's the will of the department to embrace a vision that was laid out in 04 which included making Tiger Stadium the finest football facility in America, and TAF used politics to stop it.
It's 2013 for gods sake. There are companies all over the country that specialize in asbestos removal and remediation. That shouldn't be an issue, nor should any other technical problems associated with renovation, like Air Conditioning. We're not in tha Dark Ages any longer. All that can be handled. Financing, Will and Vision are the obstacles.

Anyone know what's in those old dorm rooms now? Are they used for storage or something?
The department I work for on campus uses some of the old dorm rooms in the south end zone for storage. As some have mentioned, there is a lot of work to do before they could be utilized for any game day activities. It is pretty neat in there though if you're a fan of LSU's past.

And you have to realize that e south end zone dorms are at least 20 years newer than the rest of the stadium dorms....
When we get the LSU version of t. Boone Pickens, then it might happen

Tiger Stadium Gameday condos.....why not?
According to everything I have read and heard, asbestos remediation would be cost prohibitive and dangerous.

It is in the works down the line. You will see it.
Frats would never afford what those things would cost

None of the reasons listed so far are valid. This needs to be done and all it takes is money. They would pay for themselves once they are up and running or if LSU doesnt want to foot the bill, they could sub them out to a private company and just collect a percentage/rent from them. Anything associated with LSU football is a cash cow and plenty of investers would jump at the chance.

Would be the most fricking insane party's and soooo many drunks. God I would love it.

Start with N.Stadium. estimate how much and how many suites can be built. Get corp & Individual sponsors to put up the money. whatever they pay will go towards their multiple year lease on the suites.

It will be done.
Joe said he wants to start with the facade and fix the windows.
Check
He said after that expansion would be next.
Check
He said the infrastructure would come last.
There will be renovations and I am 100% sure the dorms will be redone into suits.
I imagine corporate suites and individual ones, like hotel rooms.

The real question isn't why not, it's why do this? I don't honestly don't think it would be that attractive. the condos itself would not be in greatt shape unless ridiculous amounts of money were spent remodeling. The only people who could afford it would be corporations that already have suites. and those people are probably ready to leave after 5 hours in stadium and all day tailgating.
