I have many but my favorite is: The Adventures of Sebastain Cole. It's a pretty great film, and the music is amazing.
Gabriel Macht as Troy is one of my all time favorite wtf movie characters.
I almost forgot The Door in the Floor. Another great one. Both by Tod Williams.

My favorite is Hud, which is a coming of age story about Lon (played by Brandon De Wilde), masquerading as a Paul Newman vehicle

I'd have to go Stand By Me and Breakfast Club as 2 of the best. I grew up in the 80's so I have plenty to choose from, but these were the most quotable. I remember going to school and everyone was talking about them and saying things from these movies right after they came out.

Just watched this last night for the first time in a while and realized my barber shop is in it.

Would Good Will Hunting count in this genre?

There's a reason this is one of my fav genres, all of these movies listed are pretty great. I'm hoping somebody mentions one i have never seen.

I love Empire of the Sun... but a "coming-of-age" film? I dunno.
