Good morning OB'ers!

Does anyone know if such a place exists where you can rent a boat? Kind've like how you would rent a car. Thanks!

Location would probably help as well as type of boat desired...

Anywhere in BR, Prairieville or Gonzales. Just a small fishing boat. Nothing bigger than a 90 HP. I don't fish often. All I have is a couple of mud boats but nothing I want to take out to fish. My brother wants to go out and fish on Memorial Day so it got me thinking.

C&M used to rent carolina skiffs out in Lafitte but I don't think they do anymore. May want to give them a call.

AAA Rental on Florida near Flannery rented them a few years ago. I don't know if they still do.

There is a boat club over in Mandiville area that has all kinds of boats. Your membership gives you access to all of them. They handed my a pamphlet at the wooden boat show last year. Perhaps someone else knows the name...

From Craig's List:

quote:

Freedom BOAT CLUB membership for sale at 75% off of the asking price. The normal rate is $5,200 but on sale for($1,599.One Time) plus normal monthly dues. If you are interested in an easy way to boat, this is it. No hassles with storage, towing or cleaning. Just show up , have fun and drop the keys off and go home when you are done. There is a one time club setup fee plus monthly dues for all members and that is all you pay. Now is a great time to capture the savings since the price will double in June 2013. You can choose between 4 boats to use. Two Deck/Ski boats, one Pontoon boat and one Fishing boat.

hmm, they must have just started doing that.
I remeMber renting skiffs from C&M.$100 A DAY FOR A 19' With 100 hp yamaha 4 strokes on them.
$150 A day for a 15' with a little arse 25 on it seems really steep but you know they keep em running all the time down there.

That's pretty cool but they restrict you to having to dock at their marina and can't use it overnight. I was looking for somewhere I could just hook up the trailer and drive off and then bring it back.

no such thing. Nobody in their right mind will let you hook up your truck to a boat and leave with it.
You're insane to think so.

Ppl rent cars all the time. Why's it so crazy to think the same business can't be done with boats?
