Man, $108k for a car, Fed bankrolls production, fed bankrolls sales thru incentives, and I'm sure Fed bankrolls charging stations as well...
No telling what the cost of all this truly is, but it is NOT worth it at this time, not even close.

Tesla paid their loan off 9 years early
And they make a cheaper version for around 70k, 108k is not anywhere near the base model. Obviously out of the price range of most Americans at this point, but for someone looking at a 50-60k BMW or Mercedes, it would be reasonable.
Their plan is to have a model around the 40k price point within the next couple years. I think that is when we'll know whether or not electric cars can gain any serious chunk of market share.
