Does Shabazz remind anyone else of Harrison Barnes

I feel like scouts were saying the same kind of things about Harrison Barnes that they're now saying about Shabazz.

Barnes, like Shabazz, was considered one of the best players coming out of high school and somewhat underwhelmed everyone in college. And some people were a little worried about Barnes' attitude as well.

I haven't watched Shabazz pay much but a few of the things I've read about his game reminded me of last year when I was reading about Barnes. They're both known for their scoring and Barnes was/is considered really good athlete while Shabazz is also considered a decent athlete. I'm asking this because Barnes has really started to come into his own recently and I wonder if Shabazz will do the same. At the next level.

I know a bunch of people on here (VOR) are already calling him a bust. And he's not necessarily my #1 choice but watching Barnes this year just goes to show that we shouldn't write a player off just because he had a underwhelming fr/so year and has some Maturity questions.

Obligatory TL;DR

I keep flip flopping on Bazz. I don't think he'll be an all star or anything like that, but I can see him eventually as a 6th man role ala Crawford or JR Smith.

I think Shabazz will become a starter in this league, but it is going to take some time to develop. He needs to learn how to use his right hand better and he needs to work on his rebounding and passing the ball. The scoring factor is definitely there for him, but I would be upset if the Pels pull a lottery pick and select this guy. Wouldn't mind taking him 5-7 though

I'm probably in the minority here, but I think Shabazz immediately upgrades our SF position and can be a legit starter here.

I think he starts from day 1 if he is drafted here and we don't sign anyone at SF in FA.

I'm actually really hoping we pick him.

I think in the right situation..

He can come in the league average 10-12 points a game..

The key to me is....How much better can he be?

I thought about this and posted something similar during the combine thread. Though I don't think that he really performed that well and he only measured in at 6-6 IIRC, which concerns me

I need to go bump the threads from last year before the draft. I was getting in multiple page arguments over Barnes as a draft prospect. Everybody was bashing me because I thought he was going to be really good. But to answer the original posters question, this guy doesn't compare to Barnes. They are a totally different type of player. Shabazz doesn't have the size of Barnes and he isn't close to being the same type of athlete. I also think Barnes is more skilled offensively.
