I also hope he plays LB. I would say he is maybe 6'2.. if heights are inflated as they are at times in HS. He may also be closer to 220 then 230. Having said that, he is the most natural LB LSU has signed in a long while. I know the Georgia kids that have played for LSU have been very good(Shep, Minter, Riley), but this kid was a legit national recruit and has a size/speed combo LSU has not had since Brady James and Trev Faulk....and this included Jones. Previous LBs have either been small and fast, or big and slow. Minter being the one who may have had some of everything but still only 6'0. Beckwith and Jones are both over 6'2 and seem to have wheels. Beckwith ran down one of the best backs in the country in the Under Armor AA game. Whether it translates to SEC(LSU Defense) caliber remains to be seen. But I could see him getting playing time early even though he was not here in the spring.

So, for me, I hope he stays at LB because LSU has not had a dominant Outside LB in a while. I envision the Niners when I think of Beckwith and a couple other young LBs(i.e. Melvin Jones/Kwon Alexander/Duke Riley/Lorenzo Phillips) In Nickle, he goes to the MLB at 6'2 225-240(4.6) speed with one of the others mentioned, similar to how the Niners use Bowman and Willis. In Dime, he is alone in the middle. With all the DE's that are coming in(4 I believe), with 3 being high caliber. I would imagine that luxury would allow him to stay at LB.

Sorry for being so long-winded.

I said I think he'll end up at DE. Too much depth at LB and too little depth at DE. And I think He will grow into that 6'3" frame a little once Moffit gets a hold of him.

He sure did.

I dropped my jaw at his ability to pursue 5* RBs laterally and upfield step for step.
