It still seems blasphemous and too safe of a choice. I'm pretty confident I know just about exactly what will happen from a plot perspective with Abrams at the wheel. I'd rather they went with Brad Bird, Alfonso Cuaron, or maybe even Guillermo Del Toro. But with a new Star Wars film every damn year, I'm sure we could still make time for them.

Typically the good guys lose in the second chapter of a trilogy. And they weren't all that victorious. At least 200,000 people were killed in the movie, if not more. Pretty much the only real win in this movie is escaping with their own lives.

He'd be good. Not as good as the other's I've mentioned though. Definitely like to see his POV. I just think he's a better adaptor of material than creating original material.
