Lets just say the Heat have the salary cap to do it. Who should they look forward to adding to the roster for the next season?

You would want somebody to do all the dirty work/post presence who can defend.

I think a player like Serge Ibaka would make the Heat even better than they are now. He's not necessarily a superstar, but he can rebound, block, and is strong enough to control the paint.

Working him down low with Bosh's ability to spread the floor with a midrange game would make the Heat a very hard team to defend against.

Chandler would be huge. They don't need a scorer. But, a center that can run like that, grab rebounds, and play that level of D in the middle would be huge. Bosh could concentrate on being a 4 that spreads the floor...... With Chandler, Bosh, James, and Wade all on the floor I'd have to think the Heat would become one of if not the best rebounding teams in the NBA.

I question whether you've watched Ibaka. He's basically a worse version of Bosh. Ibaka isn't able to control the paint on offense or defense.

if there is a type of guy they could add, it's this

doesn't demand the ball on offense. incredibly efficient when put in the right place on offense

unselfish rim protector and rebounder

I think the best answer is Steph Curry. He may be able to shoot 60% from 3 playing PG for the Heat. I don't think they're really interested in a big who can't space the floor. And they already have Birdman to play that Tyson Chandler role for 15-20min.

i think chalmers' D, lack of demand for the ball, and his 40% 3PT this year gives him an advantage

plus that 3 point shooting is kind of redundant with ray allen

but yes, birdman is their mini-chandler

3pt shooting is never redundant in my opinion. They can play both of them in some circumstances. But Curry is just a better three point shooter than Ray at this point in their careers.

Chalmers' D has been awful though. Maybe he's injured, but he's regressed defensively this season and playoffs. Chalmers has become their offensive PG with Cole being the defensive one, which is ironic because 2 years ago the roles were reversed with Mike Bibby/Chalmers.

Paul Millsap is an UFA and would give them the toughness/rebounding they lack.
