Woke up this morning and decided we wanted to go to Cajun Country...getting in car now and heading down Hwy 90 listening to the baseball game.

We were considering Poor Boy's Riverside Inn? Clementine's? or somewhere in Abbeville...

looking for the a really definitive dinner and something on sunday lunch/brunch...looked at mr. lester;s menu for that.

Things to do: Konriko and Shadows? Anything else...my wife likes to shop and spend my money.

Live music: Really want to hear some great cajun/zydeco...I see Keith Frank is playing at Cypress Bayou...is he good? Any other bars in downtown New Iberia? Its been years for me as I usually stay in downtown Lafayette.

Not sure it will fit in this trip, but is French Press still getting great reviews?

A really great gumbo or crawfish bisque would be great or great boiled crawfish somewhere?

I still love Riverside Inn. I've never been to Clementine's but have heard good things.

I think Keith Frank is awesome! Here's a clip I watch/listen to when I need to get myself in a good mood: Keith Frank - Oh Ma

Sunday afternoon at Vermilionville there will also be a zydeco band in the Performance Center. It's a pretty tame venue, might not be your thing, but local dancers are often there and can be fun to watch.

Kevin Naquin will be performing at Randol's. I'm a fan of his, but I don't love Randol's. Other people have different opinions.

The Shadows is not open on Sundays, so you'd have to do that today. If you enjoy history and old homes, you will enjoy it. Konriko has its fans.

Chubby Carrier will be at Whiskey River in Henderson on Sunday afternoon.

ETA: Sorry, I didn't help you with New Iberia. Did you mean Riverside Inn's sister restaurant in New Iberia, Little River Inn? I don't think it gets the same love as the original does.

And yes, French Press is still getting great reviews.

Jungle Gardens and Tabasco might be of interest. Well, the Tabasco Country Store always interests me. I always find something to buy.

Wow, this brings back memories of NI. The house I was born in was one block away from the home of Joseph Jefferson, the silent film star of Rip Van Winkle. No, we were not friends. He died a tad bit before I was born.

I remember when the Avery Island Salt Mines stopped tour groups in the 50s when a block of salt from the ceilling dropped and killed a tourist.

And, then I had a friend up here in Shreveport who decided to ride his Honda Goldwing to the Jungle Gardens back in 1979 only to find that motorcycles were forbidden.

Those were the days.
