Venice isn't very commercialized at all. We're you able to find anything?

Delete the word very and you sentence will on the money. He will have luck if he can eat from the galley of a boat at the docks.

Both Marina's (Cypress cove and Venice marina) have restaurants. Not really sure how good they are though.

Not much else besides that in Venice. It's worse since Katrina. Used to have a few restaurants down there from Buras to Venice but most were whiped out in Katrina and never came back.

I work in Venice a lot and have eaten at both marinas frequently. Not great - not bad. I have also eaten at The Black Velvet in Buras. Nothing great but options are limited.

Edit: Fried seafood is the theme and I hate fried seafood except for the occasional cravings for fried soft shelled crab. You can get raw oysters at Black Velvet.

Is Tom's still open? Last several trips I've just eaten at one of the marinas, as described, decent, not great. Usually the amount of adult beverages consumed render restaurant reviews meaningless. Tom's used to be money for oysters.

I ate at the Venice Marina and had the same experience. Just ok.

Actually may be eating at one of them this evening after my fishing trip today. I will post later to update.

I'm not sure if Tom's reopened. I think the Black Velvet and a Chinese place may be the only options in the Buras area. I think the Empire marina(Delta Marina) also has a restaurant. Then there are a few mom and pop type diners along the highway.

They do and it's better than the Venice ones IMO. Decent lunch plates and more options than FRIED. They have a MILF usually working in there (she might actually be owner or co-owner cause I seen her raising hell with the other help).

Venice Marina is solid. Better than Cypress Cove Marina.

Not many choices however.

Best bet is to catch some redfish and trout and cook them yourself. Nothing fresher.

Ate today at Cypress Cove. It was descent. Mostly louisiana fried food on the menu. I had the shrimp/fish platter and fries with gravy and cheese.

Caught some fish too!
