I helped them search but we never found first blood. He may have hit him high on the neck and got a clean pass through with his .260.

Them frickers don't bleed much with a good shot with all that fat. Maybe he got something that'll make buzzard food out of him

Found the skull and skeleton of a boar we shot back in Nov today. Never left blood. Was shot with and arrow. Found blood on the arrow but no hog. Pretty sure it's the same one. It was a pretty big boar.

Personally under .30 cal I suggest all ear hole shots. That is a small little target on a 60 lb moving hog.

I just think it was a slightly off target shot.

Final update, after searching for the hog last night the guys pressed on and tried to do some spot lighting. They did manage to see a sow and 2 piglets on a sprint across a clearing but with the darkness and the speed o f the moving hogs they were not able to get a shot on the sow.

Everyone had a great time and I was privileged to have met these men and their fathers. There truly is nothing more important than spending time with family.

To say the least. He was on call the whole time and seemed to be working his arse off. Still made time to help us clean the one pig, fill feeders, check cameras, listen to all our questions, etc etc. All that on top of sick kid, he still came out and helped track a pig I thought I shot.

Even though I missed a pig I had a great time. I was even more pissed when we were driving home passing through Ville Platte, and there standing on the side of the interstate in the heat was a freaking sow. I almost pulled the pistol and started shooting out the window. Was like an insult to my miss.

Anyway, He's got a great lease and knows everything about it. Hopefully, that buck that kept walking by me grows up big so he can get that one.

Ill try and get the pictures up off my phone soon.
