Blowing up on Twitter right now. Second-richest man in the world could be investing in MLS soon.

Wonder what that means for their location, discriminatory transfer philosophy and all-around awfulness.

ETA: This news comes shortly after reports that MLS was going to buy Chivas USA directly from Vergara.

I don't imagine their awfulness could get much worse.

Lots of super rich people investing in MLS is a great sign. They think they can buy in for $40 million now and in 20 years a franchise will be worth 10 times that amount or more.

It could triple Chivas USA's fanbase to 9.

Good article on the Classical earlier this week about how Veracruz is running a sham business that is like a vitamin and natural supplement version of Amway, he is married to a woman who exploits him, and he meddles in his clubs.

Getting rid of him can only be a good thing.

Carlos Slim makes Abramovich look like a peasant. Paul Allen was probably the richest owner in the MLS before now.

Today's news is that the real Slim shady doesn't want Chivas USA, and having to overtake that franchise is a stumbling block for his Guadalajara purchase.
