Wipe it down with alcohol, let it air dry, add a light spray of spray on adhesive, add stickers...done.
That's the first method I tried. Although that probably works fine for a glossy smooth PPE hull. The NuCanoe hull is shark skinned (as in bumpy).
The decal just wouldn't adhere. Especially in some of the creeks I like to go in, because of the constant scraping of limbs and branches. The decal would peel.
Instructions from 3M using their pads required first a blast from a heat gun for 10 - 15 seconds to the hull, then wipe with pad and apply decal.
After that I never had another problem with it peeling. Even after going through places I had to hack my way through with my machete.
