The last couple of years the Media has hammered Westbrook. Although the Thunder made the WCF 2 years ago and the Finals last season, most of the media has acted like OKC has won in spite of Westbrook. Without him, they have struggled against the 8th seed Rockets and are on the verge of loosing in 5 games to Memphis. Seems like some of these guys would come out and admit that they were wrong about how important he is to the Thunder but so far no one is really talking about it.

but why isn't Westbrook sitting on the bench with his teammates? I'm sure this has been discussed ad nauseum....

I agree 100%

People loved blaming RW for "taking shots away" from KD. I think we have all found out that KD isn't as assertive as he should be. And that hes the best scorer in the league, but hes not LBJ. Hes not carrying a team (well, not a team that weighs more than 185, anyways...)

Who said he wasn't important to the Thunder? Who said without him they would be better?

I agree but this isn't exactly the way to prove it. Losing him in the playoffs and replacing him with a washed up Derek Fisher doesn't really prove his greatness. I think most wondered if they'd be a better with a distributor, not that they'd be better with Durant and a bunch of shite.

lol wut?

this proves jack shite about Westbrook.

a legit comparison would seeing how they did with a different starting PG who can score but is not as apt to be shoot first.

somebody like Mike Conley Jr, Rajon Rondo, or hell, even Greivis Vasquez

if the grizz play a tough league finals, win or lose, this convo will be a non factor. houston was inferior even without RW. memphis is superior.

Now, if only Durant was forced to play with this roster for another 6 years...
