quote:I've seen the ecoboost like $1000 option to a 5.0. Having full torque at 2500 rpm's is what makes it worth the price increase. That kind of torque is what's supposed to be in a truck not full torque at 5000 rpm.
Worst $5000 price increase

And if the damn truck companies would get off the horsepower bandwagon we'd have that with every truck.
The gas burners in trucks these days piss me off.

The people claiming loss of power are probably describing turbo lag. If you mashed the pedal on my old 2500HD duramax it would fall flat on its face for a second or two then take off like a scared rabbit once the turbo spooled up. Now my 6.7L Ford has much less noticeable turbo lag but the acceleration definitely has a sweet spot. If you ease into the throttle and let the turbo get some boost then mash it... son of a bitch will pin you in the seat.

Ecoboost is a $1095 option on trucks that already come standard with the 5.0
Now the 6.2 is like a $3500 dollar option

This design was perfected by Toyota for their 1995 model Supra
