How in the hell can you make this movie and not have the Battle of Yonkers. And even further how can you NOT consult Max Brooks in the creative process?

I wish someone would kick Brad Pit in the dick.

I'm becoming less and less excited about this movie every time someone makes a thread about it here.

The first teaser trailer finished off any fraction of hope that I had for this adaptation.

It's just a movie that ripped off the title, character names and story points from a book that we all enjoyed.

George RR Martin talked about this. He said authors would sell the rights to a studio, because they would offer so much money, only to watch helplessly as they completely butcher it. That's why he waited until the right person came around (Benioff and Weiss) before he sold them.

I've already accepted that this film is going to be a massive letdown. Such high hopes.

With his dads connections, it seems odd that he ended up in this position. I recently read the book and it seems like it would have been a fantastic tv show, with each chapter turned into an episode. You could have been true to the book, added additional stories here and there and put it together for a reasonable budget.

Damn, never realized that Mel Brooks' kid wrote this book. Really cool.

I think he just took the big paycheck and doesn't want to come out and admit it.

I really wanted it to be like the book. Interviews and flashbacks to the war, with us having already won.

Would have made a great HBO series.

World War Z, a Mel Brooks film
featuring Gene Wilder, Rick Moranis and whatever other brooks retired actors that are still alive. And even as a slapstick it would have been a better movie.

I read too quickly and thought it said Mel Brooks.

I was disappointed to see it wasn't. I would have been interested in what he had to say.

I agree with you, a Mel Brooks WWZ movie would be better.
