they don't look pointy enough to pierce a fish's mouth

Would have been great back when i carried one rod. No idea what I'd do with those these days.

To clip your hooks on so you don't have to re tie

I have a few pre rigged popping corks with them that I kinda like for convenience, especially when changing from live bait to artificial in a hurry.

You ever make that yak trip that you were asking about or is that this weekend?

And to stay on topic, they would be nice when I had 1 rod, but now I have 3 to rotate through.

So you put a hook on the open end and let it be? Seems like it would just be more stuff near the bait to make an old bitty speck think twice about biting it

Are you sure you don't mean quick magazines?

I've put them on trot lines before to try to cut down on the clusterfrick that sometimes occurs when stringing a couple hundred hooks in the middle of the night with 50% of the needed light and 150% of necessary beer consumption. I can't say they were worth it.

So you just tie that end to the line and clip different leaders on?

no. You tie the leader to that clip and then clip whatever hook/jighead you want.

i only use them on tube jig b/c they supposedly give the lure more action than a knot tied directly to the jig head

I like the idea of being able to change lures fast. However, does it change the action of the lure?

Don't like those but duo lock snaps in size two or three work great.I have been amazed why folks don't use them more. The first thing I do is remove the split ring from a crank bait. Been doing that for thirty years. You can change colors in seconds and they're stronger than split rings unless you forget to close them.
