I've seen this episode at least 3 times and never put 2 and 2 together.

I still don't believe it totally myself. The things shown (if taken at face value) just as well point toward him being a Prophet.

More importantly, the finale was pretty darn great. And there are plenty of things to handle next year.

Apparently the creator also confirmed it.

Kripke danced around it and said it was up to interpretation.

When I talked to you guys at Comic-Con back in the mists of time, [then-showrunner Eric] Kripke mentioned that we'd be meeting God this season. Does that mean we actually did meet God, and now we're left guessing about who it was (Chuck, Crowley, Joshua, etc.)? Or did you guys decide to leave God out of the picture?

I love a good God debate, so it's nice to hear we got one going this season. We purposely left a bit of room for interpretation. Although many of your readers probably just read that sentence and rolled their eyes because they feel like we made it all very obvious by the end.

I just don't agree with idea that that so much of what was said and shown was inconsistent or unreliable. I mean we're told many times that God hadn't done anything in a long time and then did something. Then told point blank that God would do NOTHING further by Joshua who is one of the few entities we know God talked to. Then Chuck/God pops up and helps out again when called upon.

It's nit-picky but it's just my interpretation.

Technically, we don't know if Metatron was telling the truth about the final demon trial. Kevin didn't finish translating it.

that's good, other than Tosh, I don't watch much on Tuesdays. Wednesdays have a lot of shows.

This season single handily made up from a bad season 7. This season has been amazing.

Almost finished episode 22 then the finale.

Wow what a fantastic episode. What a turn around from season 7. Not many shows could come back from the brink of death. Kudos to the writers. The angles at the end was amazing with the music at the end. Next season should be great. Can't wait to see how they make castiel and the new villains.

2 more seasons and it looks like the writers have a plan

I hope they bring the dad back and start going through their past as to why they started hunting in the first place.

Have you not watched the first few seasons?

Their dad started because yellow eyes killed the mom(who was a hunter already) and the boys grew up with it. Sam joined Dean again after yellow eyes killed his girlfriend. It all went on from there.

Also Jeffery Dean Morgan has been critical of the post season 5 episodes but he said he's open to coming back if they can get a good script.
