Only one reason for perfect mid-week record 2 seasons in a row...

ALAN DUNN

He has 10 pitchers with ERAs under 3. Not only does AD help land quality arms, it is more than apparent that he can develop them.

Props to Alan Dunn and for PM for bringing him to campus.

Definitely a big factor

Also a big factor we usually play really bad teams and see their worst pitching.

That has always been the case. But only undefeated record in mid week games came last year; and now this year. It's all AD.

Even though baseball is down in the state, the random nature of baseball suggests you would lose one of these games over a span of 2 years.

Not really. Not long ago, Tulane and ULL were top 40 teams annually, Northwestern State was a solid 40-win-a-year team, UL-Monroe would roll out guys like Ben Sheets, McNeese was good for a Southland Conference title ever 4-5 years and Southern was the class of black college baseball, by far.

Now, ALL of those programs are significantly weaker than they once were. Although Southeastern and UL-Lafayette are decent, they aren't nearly as strong as the better mid-week teams LSU was playing 10-15 years ago.
