I might borrow a friends to fish Saturday, I have only tried it once and it was too damn windy to even fish.

It's not too small to fish out of, especailly just to borrow and use. Yes it is very very small and unstable but it's not too small. Also depends on what kind of kayak it is? Sit-in-side or sit-on-top? What brand will also play a big part in stability and tracking

Yes, sit on top. I don't feel like driving to the northshore to get the family boat so I figured I would hit Reggio in a yak if its not too windy.

I believe it's a pelican, I know it's a sit on top.

I have a sit on top 10ft Pelican that I bought a couple weeks ago. Plan on adding a couple rod holders soon.

Are they truly 10' or are they 11'6"?

I think Pelican has 2 different castaway lengths. The 10' 110 and the 11'6" 116.

Yes 10" is too small. With gear, icechest, fishing equipment, standing up...you need space. 12' min - 14' max.

A 10 foot kayak will be just fine

Fish and have fun. Good luck
