Meh, there is much better to be had. They are cheap, but a decent knife for the price

I've used the Ken Onion Scallion as and every day carry for the last 10 years. The blade doesn't hold an edge for very long but I've been pleased.
Their customer service is top notch.

I'll put it this way, they ain't bad..
if you're are looking for knives, check my buddy/neighbor out at New Graham Knives
he is a huge gun rights advocate, (teaches CC the proper way), and great guy to boot!

I have had my Ken Onion Leek for over 10 years now. Love that knife.

Work knife.
I like a palm length, open assisted with a pocket clip that holds a fair edge but doesn't take long to hone and doesn't hurt too bad if it gets lost.
Kershaw does those things for me.

is CRKT or Spiderco any better?
Posted on 5/13/13 at 2:43 pm to PvilleP
Spyderco makes the BEST knives for the money IMHO. If you asked me for a list of my top ten knives for ~ $100, half of them would be Spyderco.

Yes those are both better brands. Benchmade ftw

To answer your question about Kershaw, they make good knives for the price. I have the Skyline ( paid $35) and the Blur with S30v steel (paid $70) and I'm happy with both. I also have one of their cheaper knives (made in China), and I'm not super happy with it.
Kershaw's Zero Tolerance knives are top shelf, and very heavy duty...awesome quality, but they're heavy and fairly expensive.

Spyderco

awesome quality, but they're heavy and thick

Got one in the mail today. Why I was asking. Pamphlet said they will sharpen your knife for free if you mail it to them.

I agree, and I didn't refer to Zero Tolerance as a "series" of Kershaw Knives for a reason. They are incredible knives, but very few people on this board would pay that kind of coin for a knife.

for you Kershaw spring assisted knife owners, any of your springs break yet?
My Sog spring broke so now I use it like a regular opening knife. Those springs are thin, at least in my Sog.

I had this one ZT0350 with a combo blade. Best knife I have ever owned, with Spyderco Military coming in as a close second.
Main difference in the two is size

Had an assisted open kershaw open in my pocket and stab me in the leg.
Never again.

I love my ZT 0560
I love the Military as well, but the Para-Military 2 is my favorite Spyderco. It's easily my favorite knife ~ $100 of any manufacturer.
