LIVE VIDEO OF OLD FAITHFUL ERUPTION

I saw an Elk running right to the left of the geyser (not while erupting) around 10:30.

My father and I went to montana in 2011 and stopped by Old Faithful.

We called my mom and she watched with us from her work computer while we were standing next to the geyser. It was pretty cool.

Ive always said if I had to live somewhere after the fall of modern man, it would be this area. Hot water year around and cold water year around. Plenty of animals and fire wood.

one of the most anti-climatic things I've ever witnessed in person

pretty sure it is even more disappointing to watch live on a computer monitor

One of my favorite characters in history is Jim Bridger. Read up on him, he was intelligent and had an inner drive that allowed him to survive in conditions most couldn't.

He was one of the first white folks to see the geysers at Yellowstone, and people thought he was exaggerating when he would tell them what he saw there. He was well known for his tall tales (petrified forest with petrified birds) so it's understandable folks thought he was spinning a yarn.

They got an "Old Faithful of California" in Calistoga. They hide it pretty good but it's really just a geothermal well that the crack the valve on every few minutes. Pitiful.

Old Faithful is definitely anti-climactic. There is plenty of other great stuff to see besides that if you are going out to Yellowstone. The Absarooka-Beartooth scenic highway is badass.

Plenty of much cooler things to see in yellowstone.

I saw a herd of buffalo between the seating area and Old Faithful. That kept things interesting with the asians all getting close to take pics. I was ready to see one gored.
