Im out of flour and want to make gravy to put chicken down in.

But i have this box of cheese and herb bread mix. That should work huh? Its mostly flour, just with a cheese and herb flavor right?

You don't need flour to make a chicken gravy only to thicken it. Fricking Yankees..

I want shredded chicken in gravy over rice, its better thick.

Sorry we always considered a flour gravy a Yankee gravy. I want my gravy to taste like meat not flour and be dark brown.

I never use flour when making rice and gravy with beef, but i do with chicken and it turns out good.

Chicken gravy is not going to be dark brown anyway so im not sure what you're talking about.

If you take your time browning your meat and make sure the bottom of your pot is cakes with browned drippings you can get your chicken gravy just as dark as a beef gravy.
