I'm sure burying it to the frame a few weeks back didn't help the cause, either.

That's why I wouldn't be surprised if the transfer case is smoked
If it is I may be doing that auto to manual swap way sooner than I planned.

Nope.
I'm gonna change the transfer case oil since I've never done it and see if that helps. If not,

It's probably almost empty...

I don't think so. Some came out when I pulled the slip yoke out the t case.
If it's toast I'm going find a 92-95 k2500 with a manual tranny and swapping it in. I finally don't HAVE to DD this truck so if I'm going to sink money in it, I'm going to sink money for shite I want.

It will help.
For awhile.

Also, you could fill it, run it a bit, drain it and fill it again.
That may be a lost cause, though.

I'm sure the bearings are on their last leg. Just drove it and all the u joint noise is gone and I can't hear the drag noise unless the engine is off.
Im going to change the fluid just because I've never done it, but I was glad to not be able to hear it. Before I changed the u joints it was like riding in a jackhammer.

Totally off topic, but did you know you can get a brand new Tacoma/tundra with a manual?

Yea. I don't want one though.
The more I look into it the more I want to just swap a manual into the green truck since it's not my DD anymore. I don't think it'll be too bad as long as I can get my hands on a donor truck.
I doubt my transmission/TC have much life left in them anyway. You don't hear of them going over 120k miles too often and I'm at 160k, all of which had oversized tires, extra weight, and plenty towing.

That's gonna be a bitch.

Don't care. If I'm going to spend money it will be to make it how I want it.
I've been looking into it for a few years now. I have a decent idea of what's involved in it and it doesn't seem like there's that much nit picky bullshite involved. Mostly just wrangling up the right parts.

Did not know you could get a Tundra with a stick. That's cool.
Downshift, I have a buddy who's gonna buy a old MB 240D, pull the motor and put it in a Ranger-type truck. He wants a mini diesel pickup all the Isuzus are wore out.
He's talented enough to do it, too.
