does anyone think it was a strategy by the heat to get tempers flared in game 2, let it boil over, knowing the refs would step in and call a super tight game, preventing the bulls from physically mauling miami like they did in game 1 and streak ending game?

or did the heat get lucky that it played out that way? seems the only way the bulls can win is to muck it up, get physical and get in LBJ/Wade/bosh's heads. but if it gets too physical, the refs will step in and deescalate the situation with more foul calls, allowing the heat to play their semi-finesse game. if i were spo, i'd let some guy on the end of my bench get into pushing matches in the first qtr and have a tightly game called all series.

It was terrible strategy then to piss of the best team in the NBA and get physical with the most physically dominating player in the NBA today.

Great strategy Chicago.

The commentary was a little hard to take. They kept insisting the refs would start letting it go if they kept it physical and would stop calling everything. They couldn't have been more wrong.

9 technicals was ridiculous. Some were justified, but a lot of those techs were taking away from the competitive spirit of the NBA Playoffs.

Chicago doesn't have a shot in Hell if this series shifted to tick tack fouls constantly being called. But that's not the reason Miami beat them last night. Chicago lost their composure.

obviously didn't work.

Miami has too much athleticism. Once Chicago started putting pressure on the perimeter, players were cutting in too quickly to get to the rim.

Let's see if Miami can shoot well in Chicago.

worked in the streak ending game

with their available personnel, its their best chance. if the game is called close, trying to prevent a fight of sorts on the court, los torros are done.

Is it just me, or does it seem like teams in the east have more TPOS on them?

Most athletic/ not most physically imposing.

How often does he back players down in the post or out muscle multiple people for a rebound?

There is a difference you know

it would have been a blowout last night regardless...but the refs are to blame on letting it get out of control.

Who exactly on the Bulls is excessively physical?

The most physical player on the court last night was Chris Anderson because he was just out there to throw cheap shots at people and stir up shite.

Then you have Mario Chalmers saying Noah dishes cheap shots, and then grabs Noah's throat while fighting over a screen.

I love how people say Chicago's style is "excessive" physical.

The Bulls rebound and defend well. That doesn't make them "physical".

Yall listen to the media way too much.

Noah flopped in the first quarter when Chalmers touched his back when Noah was sliding down on a pick and roll. They called the foul on Battier but Noah hitting the deck was italian soccer-esque. Chalmers should have punched him in the throat later for taking that bitch flop.

their whole defensive philosophy is physical. i dont have a problem with it. i love defense and rebounding (thats not sarcasm) and coach thibs. but theyre physical. to deny that is either naive or stupidity.

yes, he was acting like a goon last night and trying to send some sort of retaliation message.

my whole argument is the bulls toe that line between legal and not. if miami pushes it over that line, it wipes out chicago strategy b/c the refs wont let them bang away. they will try to clean it up as much as possible by calling it very close.

in essence, by the heat "losing their composure," it actually benefits them by taking away the bull's trump card of great physical defense
