Shenmue 1 & 2 ... Did Anyone Ever Play These Games?

Shenmue
I never played the first game but I did play the second on the original XBOX and absolutely loved it. I had almost forgot about it until I trying to figure out the Best Video Game For Each System and I remembered/found this one again and it got me thinking about how much I enjoyed it and would like to play more like it.
Question: Have any y'all played either one of these games before and did you enjoy it, what do you think about the game?

Shenmue Story:
The main character Ryo Hazuki, a boy who was born and raised in Yokosuka, learning martial arts from his father Iwao Hazuki, a master in Hazuki Jujitsu, grew up to be rather reckless, but with a strong sense of justice. One day when Ryo comes home, he finds a stranger forcing his father to give information on where the "Mirror" is. Though being a master in martial arts, his father was killed before Ryo's eyes, for rejecting the stranger's demand. Why did Iwao have to die, what is this "Mirror", who is this stranger......? Ryo sets off on a journey to find the answers.

Shenmue 2 Story:
Shenmue II starts when Ryo disembarks from the ship in Hong Kong. Ryo's first priority is to meet Lishao Tao, and the only clue is a letter of introduction given by Master Chen, who took Ryo's departure to Hong Kong. Ryo starts seeking the clue of Lishao Tao in the Aberdeen section. But all of the sudden, his bag was stolen. And the mysterious mirror, the Phoenix mirror is inside that bag!
Can Ryo get the mirror back? Can Ryo meet Lishao Tao?!

I played the first one for Dreamcast a ton. At the time, I was blown away how you could free roam.

Pretty amazing games. Somewhat open world with QTE events mixed in. I forget which game it was (I think part 2), but I remember getting a job at a warehouse and having to load boxes with a forklift. I think there was a big forklift race too, haha.
I wonder how they hold up now...

I don't but I'm thinking about buying Part 2 for the original XBOX it's only $10 bucks on some sites.
My favorite if I remember correctly was this monastery that you had to catch the Lotus blossom or kick it I can't remember but what I do remember is have the hardest time accomplishing that task and when I finally did how happy I was ... ahhh ... the simple things.

I remember 1 ending in a cliff hanger. It didn't explain much. I could be wrong though as this was a long time ago.
