Kayak Fishing in Dulac/Cocodrie area

Could someone please point which area would be ideal for kayak fishing since it is my first time venturing out there. Just looking for the right direction!

Try launching off Hw 57. Any roads traveling East/West through the marsh are good kayak fishing areas. Also consider the Hw connecting pointe aux chenes and Isle de Jean Charles. Although it may be a better area during winter.

Thanks for posing this question. Usually stick to LA 23 and Hwy. 1. Looking to expand my parameters.

Might want to try Lake Boudreaux off Hwy 57.

ETA: Watch out for the Gnats at the launch they can be brutal. Have your gear ready to go when you get close because you'll want to launch as fast as possible. Can also catch live bait easily with cast net just a few feet south of launch at the culvert

Launch at Coco Marina, then head in any direction. (Typically head north) Plenty of reds to be found. They only charge $5 to launch yaks, makes me feel safer that my truck is not parked on side of road. Strike King Spinnerbait is your friend.

I get tore up everytime I go to Coco. Swamp Swatter tends to help.

Hildebrandt makes the best salt water spinnerbaits I've ever used

What highway is that?
ETA: Never mind, I zoomed in and saw 57.

You come up with some random baits that I never heard of before.
I'll look into them. Strike King Spinners hold up really well.

They got bought out by some Jap company. I use a #4. Thing has so much action. I love it
