How much do you know about investing?
You can put it in the market, but there is always the risk that you'll lose some of the value.
I, personally, would am investing more heavily in ETFs.

northwestern apple is a nice trade but......coke,phillip morris,exxon i guarantee will be here in 40 years....apple will be here but who the hell knows in what capacity....12 years ago apple was around but i never once used any of their products and neither did any of my friends, microsoft was king and $3,000 sony desktops were the "cool" thing.
Im long apple, but even I dont see it as a long term play, who knows where they'll be in a decade, im only interested short term 1-3 years and more than likely if i get $525 ill cash out and head to phillip morris for more shares

I've got some GE but it hasn't moved in a looong time. Overdue.
It is into so many different sectors, it is like a mutual fund. 3.37% dividend. 5th place or so of the Dow 30.
This might be a good place to park some money. Or put 1/2 on GE and 1/2 on a good Vanguard dividend ETF like VIG.
