I have watched probably a total of 150 laps in my life up to now as I'm not interested in NASCAR in the least.
That was f'ing amazing.

That's probably the only reason I'd return to Vegas. Not a gambler but I wanna see a race out there.
I don't gamble either other than sports that's why I never made it a priority. After I went my first time though I wished I had made regular trips up there on I-15 to bet on sports and have a good weekend. I did go to Nascar Cafe in the Sahara a couple times before they decommissioned it.
I have a pic somewhere of the Dale SR car that was there

I somewhat agree with Kasey Kahne that Nascar normally lets them race to the finish in that case. I think they threw the caution because it was in the middle of the field and affected the finish of some drivers, you can't have the rest of the field driving through that.
Normally when they let them race, the wreck has no affect on the rest of the race. In this case, the caution wouldn't have affected the results at the finish line and Kasey would have won

This.

I wish there was some way you could throw the caution for the cars behind the wreck and still let the cars ahead of it race to the line. But that would be a very hard thing to officiate

Yeah, that'd be arbitrary as hell

It would be hard to officiate but everything else Nascar does is open to interpretation. I could see them changing the rules to let the leaders race to the finish but then again tonight even Kasey saw the caution lights before he crossed the finish line so how do you get around that? Do you keep racing like they used to do or lift?
I think it was just a bad break for Kasey, you don't want to open up that box of worms.

Yeah, I agree, as much as I hate it for KK

I was an usher at today's race.
The weather was utterly horrendous. Alabama has NO damn business being this fricking cold in the month of May.
I agree on the finish, though.

No, that was more like a Dale Sr move.
