Does anyone have any experience with them? My new to me Kimber has one in it. They have good reviews from Creepy Larry's site. What say the 1911 gurus of the OB?

Bar-sto makes some awesome barrels. But like KR said, you need to have it fitted to your pistol. They make them slightly larger on purpose so you can match up the locking lugs in your slide.
Oh, and I would highly suggest you get a threaded barrel if you drop the money for a new barrel:

KR I have no idea who fitted it. It was done by the previous owner. It does, however, have a lot of nice extras:
Bar-sto (for you KR) barrel
Meprolight sights installed by Kimber
VZ Grips

how much did you get it for?

With the barrel? If so the guy that sold it to you was on drugs. Or he was not the original owner, because he had no clue what he had.

Yes he was the original owner and he had the bar-sto installed. He claimed his reloads blew out the original Kimber barrel. Like I said the guy was 70+ years old. My Dad said he was driving a bad arse Lexus. He seemed to be a high roller per my Pop. Maybe he just wanted it gone?

You got a REALLY good deal on it

I need to talk to you about shooting form (specifically trigger finger positioning). I keep getting a slice on the bottom of trigger finger when I shoot a pistol with a metal trigger (basically all of my 1911 style pistols). Am I using the fingertip instead of the distal joint? Per Google that's all I can come up with. Your expertise is requested and much appreciated.

I was always taught to place the trigger on the pad directly behind the back of the fingernail, that make sense?
Too much or too little will cause shots to go right or left respectively.

You can choose which part of the pad of your finger to use. You choose what feels more comfortable. They simply don't want you hooking your finger over the trigger because it has the risk of pulling your shots way off target.
