wouldn't tell a man not to try it, but the ones like my next door neighbor who decided to get a crossbow last year and put himself and his wife and 2 kids in a pop-up blind on public land drive me nuts. He won't take any advice because someone at church or in a magazine says otherwise. In my opinion these are the people crossbows should be restricted from.

That applies to all forms of deer hunting! The problem is too many people are "shooters" and not "hunters". I got friends that think I'm crazy to scout as much as I do. I've explained to them that the fun for me is in the hunt, not just the kill. Of course, it's also why I kill two nice bucks every year. I've taught my wife, daughters and nephews to hunt the same way. It took my forever to convince my nephews that it's more of an accomplishment to kill deer withing 20 yds than taking pot shots down a powerline.
