Sounds like you would want to go with the Summoner class in this game if you were a RDM in XI.
Another great class is Bard.. it's like a mixture of what bard was in xi, and ranger, is a very fun job and actually pretty difficult to be good at.

Hoping they add this. There has been a bunch of speculation that they will be adding to the job list, so instead of just going Dragoon with Lancer, you can do Ninja. I had also heard about them adding a gun class at some point.
