Kingkiller Chronicles by Rothfuss

And this. Patrick Rothfuss knows how to write, though I hate the tangential plotlines he uses. They seem a bit out of place. Book 3 isn't out yet, either, which is annoying, but I eagerly anticipate.

ETA: O and how could I forget, the Gentlemen Bastard Sequence by Scott Lynch. The Lies of Locke Lamora is fantastic and Red Seas Under Red Skies is very enjoyable as well. Problem is those are the only 2 books out in a projected 7 book series.

American Gods by Neil Gaiman

It is a standalone book, so far.

EDT: Also Ender's Game is awesome.
