However, putting a MLS team in front of foreigners expecting they'll like it is like putting a Single A baseball team in front of Yankees fans expecting they'll follow

Fed ex field is terrible. The Georgia Dome is perfectly fine.

They did a pathetic job on Fed Ex Field. To think it just opened in 1997 is mind-boggling. It is a terrible location with awful traffic and no convenient public transportation (which is a big deal in DC). The stadium has no personality, and is just generally a huge waste of space. With five levels you feel like you are soooooo far away from the action. The field sucks too.

Georgia Dome is middle of the road. Not great, but certainly not awful.

thrashers games were by far the most fun sporting event in Atlanta outside of a big time Falcons game

This. I didn't even get to go to a game being 21 either

I was thinking Maybe the Atlanta Turkey Vultures
Or the Atlanta Barn Swallows.

I think DC should tear down RFK and build the Redskins a stadium there. It's a great location on the Metro already

The first one is stupid, incredibly stupid

The 2nd picture is a hell of a lot better, but it's still nothing great.

Maybe they'll put the next ballpark where the GA Dome currently sits.

You'll notice in the picture a few posts above yours that where the current Georgia Dome is, they have that labeled "surface parking".

Sick is the word I often use to enter downtown Atlanta, the a-hole of the south.

He did. He now gets to add more luxury suites and start charging PSLs to fans. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't double or triple his current gate take.

Gonna be a huge, lonely place of echoes when the Falcons revert to form.

I like the first design. It's like a modernized origami version of that puzzle cube from hellraiser, but in a different shape

Thrasher games were fun, but I loved when we had the Knights.

I oughta know... I was a Falcons fan from 1966 to the day that Greasy Artie Blank wheeled Mike Vick out onto the Georgia Dome sideline.

Is that greasy son of a bitch EVER going to leave Mike Smith alone when a game is actually going on? I think my favorite Falcon's moment of the past 12 years was when Mike Smith got tired of it and barked at him on national TV.

So you stopped being a Falcons fan because of Michael Vick... before he even got arrested?

I stopped being a Falcons fan because Artie didn't treat Mike Vick like he did the rest of the team. So it was more Artie than Vick.

But then, watches were being stolen at the airport by Vick's "posse". Marijuana entanglements ("oh, but he's innnocceeeennnnttt!!!").

I stopped liking the Falcon's WAY before the dog episode.

The wheelchair shite was over the top, but by numerous Falcons past and present, Arthur is one of the better owners in the league. He actually cares about the players. I can't understand why you'd stop pulling for the Falcons because of Arthur Blank, but still support them when Rankin Smith was one of the all-time worsts. This ownership is heaven compared to what we had.
