Last I heard we were having a 9 day federal season beginning in June. I know we have the state season for now but is this still the case for federal season or has thar been canceled completely?

I went the first weekend of April and got stopped by the Feds with a 3 man limit of both mangrove and red snapper. They didnt do us anything other than check us for proper licenses and measured every one of our fish.

Since state season is Fri-Sat-Sunday only what happens if you go in fed waters on the first Thursday in June and get stopped in state waters ?

Also will anyone be weighing at the rodeos after fed season closes ?

And I will deny that we were catching limits in less than and hour 4-1/2 miles out in west delta a few weeks back.

Good question. Never thought of that.

If LWF pulls that shite (which I highly doubt), I will be beyond irate. I already feel like I'm taking a hit for the sake of people who fish the delta.

I'm pretty sure the State season is considered "in addition to" the federal season.

As am I, but I refuse to fight 20 knot winds all weekend. So for now, it's back to sac au lait.

I'll have to hit the local ponds.

I really need to invest in a boat.
