To make things a little more special, try to see about making your own simple syrup for the juleps and having nice fresh mint. If you can get your hands on that small pellet like ice, it works best.

The note above about possibly combining some Mexican might be a good idea depending on your crew.

Cheese and crackers, etc are a must. Maybe one of those nice brie set ups.

You can also do one of two betting things to keep it fun.
1. Anyone who wants to bet can put up $5 and their name gets put in a hat. After getting the required number of entries, draw names out of hat for horses. Winning horse takes pot.

Can make chart with horses in each block and let people put up $5 and put their name on the block with the horse they pick. Winner(or winners) take pot.

Go through teh drive in window at Sonic and they will sell you a bag of it.
