When Randy Shannon was promoted to head coach, he explicitly made a rule banning his players from owning guns. I'm sure it's pretty standard but I thought it was funny that ESPN publicized that he had made that rule. This was right after one of Miami's players was shot.

It's a shame the athletic department doesn't support athletics. At the same time, it's a shame they don't have enough fan support to survive a few lean years.
