Gotcha. Just hide in your delusion.

What do you thinks gonna come out? Tharold going through officers in his car like bowling pins? You don't think that the cop tried to put every bad detail in there to try to build his case for arrest? What does the cop have to gain by minimizing or excluding incriminating facts in the report of a person he himself arrested....

Goes both ways. The cops are assholes too. If you don't ride off at 10mph or salute them before leaving, they get mad. Especially leaving them without doughnuts.

Regardless of what happened in this case...I'm a respectful guy and am respectful to most people when I deal with them. what that means is I treat police officers with the same respect I treat anyone else...no differently. that also means that they can lose that respect just as easily as some regular a-hole. The fact that they have a badge does not in ANY WAY allow them greater leeway in terms of the respect they deserve.

You want to be respected...you earn it. You don't get it automatically by your clothing or job title.

NOTE: I, like everyone else ion this thread, know almost nothing about what actually happened, so there's no point in speculating on it as far as I'm concerned.

Unlike you, I wasn't there so I can't speculate since I don't know either of the parties personally.

Ha! Yea, and a jury of his peers too. Just shows you think most people share your perspective. I could easily say the exact opposite and be just as right

A statement will be issed saying Simon was miss quoted and never said that. Unless the officer has audio, its his word against Tharold's. Now, the jury of public opinion will most likely believe the cop.....if I was a betting man, he did say those things.

Who gives a shite? The kid is/was about to get drafted and has a day honoring him so I bet he does feel like he owns Eunice...also must have missed where it's illegal for him to say that..

Dang Tharold, the cop never said you weren't the most important person in the Eunice; he just said move your car.

The bottom line is, if Simon would have only said "OK" then he wouldnt have inflamed the situation and he wouldnt have just detrimented his own check book. You have to be a really stupid person to get arrested on draft day.

Exactly. There is a certain way to talk to people. All im saying is if it did happen that way Simon is a fuktard that should lose alot of cash. And i would have lost all respect for him if indeed true

The report also says Simon told the officer that "the mayor was on [his] side" and that the officer would be fire if he wrote a ticket.
this is illegal

It's common sense. He has to have a reason to arrest him. That's the point of the report. At nowhere in that report did tharold do anything other than just be a general knucklehead and spout off. This isn't england tharold doesn't have to call him his highness. He does have to move his car. Which he did.

Look Simon is def wrong in this case. But I've had enough encounters with cops in my past to know most of them abuse the priveleges of the badge they wear. Not all, but a good bit act like THUGS wearing badges. You can be nice about the situation and they still jack you up for no reason. I've seen them bum rush people for no reason at all other than to be assholes.

I guess you have to have a certain personality or background to be one of them.

Aside from the fact that seems like a long time to have only engaged 80 times...to think that half of them are about a mediocre ex-LSU corner who's "crime" was being a mouthy douche to a cop seems a little strange is all I'm saying.

Nope. I also know that a 20 year old who tried to say that staying calm and letting that crap roll off your back isn't that hard. Did the officer really think that he was gonna get fired? He might now but not for writing a ticket. The guy just makes himself look like a power abusing tool for arresting him for that.

right but how you show that respect, or lack their of, to a police officer is a whole different ball game than the guy at the convenience store thats rude at the check out line. i dont have to shower him with praise just for wearing a uniform but i sure as hell am going to make sure i watch my mouth a little closer just because the stakes are a lot higher (not that im going around disrespecting people because they showed me some perceived lack of respect in the first place... bigger battles to fight out there really).
