I'm considering getting one of these for making jerky. Other than jerky, what other uses do they have? I'm looking for answers other than apple and banana chips.

I dehydrate a lot of peppers from my garden each year and grind them into chili powders. Pretty cool way to add flavors to dishes you can't buy elsewhere. I'll usually keep hot peppers separated in jars but mix some excess sweet peppers into a sweet blend.

I've also smoked some of the peppers on my pit, then dehydrated and ground them.

I've learned to dehydrate very hot peppers under the carport or back patio. I try to grow varieties of peppers I cant purchase, and start from seed so I end up with interesting pepper powders. It's a great way to not waste excess peppers that I always have.
