Wanted to start this today, tough loss last night but hey 2/3 ain't bad...
Anyway, from what I've seen this year, I really love the way Gattis swings. He's a strong guy and realizes he doesn't have to get a ton of separation of his hands from his shoulders to hit bombs. The way he has his hands set up to where he can just pull his left hand through the strike zone is a thing of beauty, it makes it seem so simple. I try and try to teach all my players that the bottom hand controls the bat, and watching Gattis swing proves that. Look how he just pulls his left hand straight to the ball and the barrel comes right around perfectly

makes it look so simple

So what would you do when McCann comes back?

Keep all 3 C at the MLB level.

Keep McCann and Laird up and option Gattis back to Gwinnett to catch every day and get ready as possible starter in 2014

Keep McCann and Gattis up and send Laird through waivers.

Would you try to trade McCann in hopes that you can get something back instead of letting him walk into free agency at the end of the year?

Keep him in hopes of resigning him?

SO MANY QUESTIONS BRAVES FANS!!!!

I cant see them sending Gattis down. He has been great behind the plate and a big part of the offense.

What is the consensus on what McCann will draw in the open market? I would keep McCann and Gattis and try to trade Laird or DFA him.

One of these two, Gattis is clearly better than Laird and ready to play at the MLB level. Going to have a hard time trading McCann I think, but it'd be sweet if we could get another starting pitcher out of it.

Most likely scenario is probably keep McCann and Gattis as his backup/outfield backup. Hopefully get him a start or two a week

The only way there is value is send him to a contender, probably in the AL where he can DH some too. His contract is almost up, so you're not going to get much in the immediate for him, maybe some prospects. But if we are a better team with him this year, we should just keep him than let him walk. No reason to double down on the future when we're already young and primed for a run this year

This is the correct answer.

I think so too. Give Gattis some time to practice OF and more 1B.

Who gets sent down? You have McCann and Heyward about to come of the DL.

In that scenario I guess Schafer?

Forgot about Rev cause he just got up. I hate to send down Schaefer he has payed relatively well, but it is possible to keep all three catchers. It makes the most sense.

And while we're breaking down swings, JUpton has one of the most quick, compact swings I've seen in a long time

That is just text book, I could watch that gif 1000 times

Look at him at contact, his arms aren't going to extend for another 2 feet I bet, that just screams 450ft bomb

Honestly give me the least athletic kid in the world, and if his swing is that fundamentally simple and compact, He'll hit close to .300 at the high school level

Package McCann and Uggla in some sort of deal

I would rather see Rev or Pena at second
