Felix Hernandez won career game 100 tonight

Age 27
7 straight seasons of 30+ starts
23 complete games
9 shutouts
Career 3.20 ERA
8.3 K/9
1 Cy Young Award (Also had 2nd and 4th place finishes)
The kicker: The Mariners have scored 1 run or less in 37% (89 starts) of his 242 career starts. The King could (should) be creeping up on 200 career wins at age 27 instead of just cracking the 100 mark if his team gave him any run support.
Another reason why wins is a shitty way to judge a pitcher.
Dude is a beast

wut? He's great but that's a bit ridiculous. Even if he had won 20 games a year every season he would still only be around 150 wins.
He wasn't really "great" until 2009. 4.52 ERA 3.91 FIP in 2006. 3.92/3.75 in 2007. 3.45/3.80 in 2008. So even saying he deserved 20 wins in those seasons is a bit much.

this is pathetic

Are you actually that stupid?

If Seattle ever gets good he'll have a really good shot at 300 wins

How is it ridiculous? The Mariners score 2 runs in 50 or 60 of the 89 games. shite, even 20 or 30 wins are a lot.

Considering he broke in as a 19 year old and those were his 19-22 year old seasons

Like I said around 150 wins. No where close to "creeping up on 200 at the age of 27"

Again I said he's great, but saying that he should be creeping up on 200 wins is pretty outlandish.

i think he is already crediting him with the 100 wins he has.
if you restructure if corrrectly, no where near 200.

As long as he's still pitching, he's creeping up on win 200

I don't see it happening. That would be 20 wins a year until he's 37. His average fastball velocity has dropped from 96.3 in 2007 to 92.4 last season and 91.5 in a small sample size this season. That doesn't bode well for success in his mid-late 30's. Pretty much all previous All Star Venezuelan pitchers have fallen off a cliff pretty quickly (Freddy Garcia, Johan, Zambrano). I still expect great things from Felix, but not 300 wins.

This shite right here is damned impressive enough for a 27 year old. Let's also mention his perfect game in 2012.

Felix is way ahead of pace the only questions are health, and how long he wants to play.

You must have him pitching into his 40's

He would have to. If he starts 34 games a year and bumps his winning % to 60% then he gets there in 10 seasons. He COULD do it but it would be tough.
Of course, that's all assuming the Mariners get there shite together and he wins 20 a season
