I have to say listening to the quotes, Blue specifically made reference to how it didn't phase him before and after the quote they pulled. Then in the quote they used, he made a general statement about the prevailing mindset in the sport of football at the level he plays.
Listening to the tape it's clear, the guy who pulled that quote is absolutely trolling, and its a completely fabricated story sensationalized by questionable editing and selective reporting, nevermind questionable motives.
Didn't have an opinion until I heard the interview in its entirety. 2:48 of wasted time but its informative to me to realize the interviewer is a piece of shite...

Well said.
I just hope the people saying that we should be mad at Blue for making the comment give it a listen.

It doesn't matter...they have an agenda.

I know, but it's possible some of them actually think Blue made those comments. This article was a complete fabrication, and was malicious towards Blue.

The fact that this is even an issue strikes me. Why the hell should they be asked questions about gay people? They're college football players. I don't care what they think of other men being gay. How does a fricking article even get to a point where they have to ask what a college football player thinks about having a gay in the locker room.
That being said, he should've known better than to say that. It's an obvious troll. But I also think he spoke the minds of pretty much everybody out there.

after listening to the audio "Hole E shite!". He said maybe some people would feel like "insert quote everybody is pissed about and it was a hypothetical situation. Then he asked how he felt SPECIFICALLY and he said that he has no problem with it.
That's why as coach I'd tell these players to "no comment" everything not related to on the field football. If it had anything to do with anything other than football, it would not get a response.
I see nothing wrong with what he said at all.

pretty accurate. It could have been easily avoided if he also quoted him when Blue said it didn't really matter at the end of the day as long as they produce on the field

WOW
So glad this audio was posted.
What a fricking spin job.
I retract everything I said bashing blue. He wasnt even stating thoughts from his perspective but was stating the stereotype.

I listened again and it's pretty shitty how they played blue like this.
Posted on 4/20/13 at 1:47 pm to Brageous
I bashed blue for being so stupid to say something like that, let alone how ignorant it was, but then hearing the audio? He didnt say or mean anything close to that.
Thats complete slander. This is completely shameful. I apologize to Blue for taking what the Reveille said as fact. They have no journalistic integrity. What bullshite.
This is terrible.

There really needs to be some sort of recourse directed at Chandler Rome for this. He was the one leading the mob with pitchforks, and even his follow-up article simply buries the truth under the initial, out of context, quote.
The Reveille owes Blue an apology.

Shame on the Reveille
Hope the writer enjoys not having credentials anymore (or no players talking to him anymore)

Never occurred to him why a professional journalist didn't use this angle?
Posted on 4/20/13 at 2:15 pm to Eighteen
Yeah I didn't understand that
If you're going to tweet about an upcoming story, at least remain a little humble and act like you've done it before.
Wouldn't have had a problem with something like "interesting story to be in tomorrow's Reveille. Stay tuned"
But I don't see the point in calling out other media
yup

Probably not a liberal gay, more like a reporter who wants to get enough "big" stories enough to move up in their journalism career. We see it every day.
