I agree. Why bash him? Trust me, there are others feel the same way, I'm sure, but want to say what is "politically correct" versus their true feelings. You guys can be so mean on this board sometimes. I'm not going to stop liking Blue because he said what he did. Those are his feelings, get over yourselves!!

Question for tigergirl4ever, aren't you glad people bashed men back in the day who had the opinion women shouldnt be allowed to vote or be in the workforce?

2) You can choose to be gay, not all are born gay.

OK, lets make a little comparison here:

I don't like peas. Never have. By your logic, one day, I can say "Hey, I think I want to like peas from now on," and then BAM, I like peas?

I disagree. I responded to the poster that was claiming it was ignorant to suggest that being "gay" (whatever that means) is not a choice. He belittled people and challenged them to "choose to be gay" whatever that means. When I bring up an obvious example, your response is that it shouldn't be considered b/c of extenuating circumstances. Another person misrepresented my position to marginalize it. Both are common tactics.

Any act is a choice. Saying something or someone is "gay" does not help further define what you mean because the term is made up. Does the modern usage of "gay" include someone who experiences only same sex attraction in all circumstances? Does it include someone who experiences those feelings and tendencies but he chooses not to act on them? Does it connote a life-style choice that includes cruising, and unregulated sex with multiple partners? Depending on what "gay" means, I may or may not be able to embrace it.

However, the current PC movement which attempts to force compliance with a broad and vague "tolerance" or "acceptance" without first defining the term is dishonest and offensive. It is much more dishonest and offensive than the boorish comments of Alfed Blue.

Sure, why not? Maybe your opinion of peas has changed over the years, as you changed as a person. Maybe you had a life altering event that changed the way you think about food. It is quite possible.

This has come down to an argument of sexual orientation vs sexual preference. Can some people prefer or choose to be in a homosexual relationship rather than a heterosexual one? Sure. But that is no different than me choosing to be in a heterosexual relationship in high school. Being in that relationship and having sex with girls didn't make me straight. Just like a man having sex with a man in prison or a woman finding more comfort in another woman rather than her husband doesn't make them gay.

You said it is ok for him to have the opinion that gays are sissys and not want them on the team. So i asked if it was ok for men to have the opinion women shouldnt vote or work. It is the same principle

We could go back and forth all day, but I won't. Bottom line is people have the "right" to their "own" opinion, whether we agree with them or not, so as formerly state to you: "GO AWAY"!!!

I 100% agree with you. I just also believe people have a right to be judged on that opinion I did not mean to upset you, just conversing

Why ask the question if there is only supposed to be one answer?

Thanks for speaking the truth Blue.

People arent upset he gave his opinion, people arent upset he feels that way, people are upset at the fact that lsu players would treat teammates differently

Most people don't "hate' gays, but in this context, sports, they don't want to be naked with them or have their kids forced to be naked everyday with someone who is sexually attracted to them! And that is NOT wrong!

There's a reason there are separate boys and girls showers!

On another note...should an openly gay football player be allowed to shower in the girl's shower? if so, every player in America would declare he's gay!
