especially since they have lost those two big home series against MSU and LSU. If those two Sunday games had gone the other way, I'd feel much better about Arkansas as a national seed contender.

That's incorrect. They beat MSU 2 out of 3, they lost a home series to Ole Miss.

What was the blown call?

First one, Laird hit a shot down the LF line, hit the line (chalk flew up) and was called foul. Laird eventually grounded out. Took a run away from us because Breg came up next at bat and hit a bomb.

In the 10th, Laird hit a dribbler down the 1st base line. 1st baseman fielded it on the line and went to tag Laird out. Laird clearly ran about 5 feet out of the baseline to avoid the tag, which should have automatically resulted in an out.

Really good article, but...

quote:

Cotton is now 2-0, 1.17 with eight saves and a 28-1 strikeout-walk mark in 23 innings. He simply carved up the Hogs by mixing his 84-88 fastball, his 1-to-7 curveball

How does Cotton have a 1 / 7 curveball as a lefty?

ETA: whoops, I see this was covered already.

Maybe if you're looking at it from the batter's view?

brat, i caught a few innings on the radio friday

jim dropped a "and thats called strike 3...uhhh.....or did he not call that? What? Ok then its 2 and 2 now."

Then the batter walked on the next pitch and Jim blamed the scoreboard operator for not showing it as a 3-2 count.

He blamed about 4 more mistakes on the scoreboard while i was listening.

You missed the one where he said:

"Called strike three, the batter goes down swinging for the second time tonight."
