So in the end, Van Horn was scared to get swept and threw his ace on Saturday...

Interesting decision.

He didn't think Stanek could keep up with Nola and went for the "win one and save face" routine.

Sounds like a pretty good coaching move to me.

I hope this is a joke? Stanek has been pitching on Saturdays before this series.

I don't think the whole season. Think he wasn't doing well on Friday nights so they moved him to Saturdays. Could be wrong though. But he has been pitching Saturdays.

Correct. This wasn't a LSU thing.

Having said that, you coudl make a pretty good argument that the decision worked against him this weekend.

Why? He took 1 of 3 from LSU. And almost won Sunday.

...cause Stanek vs. Nola would have been a tossup. And, they knocked Eades around a bit on Saturday.

This.

Stanek struggled early in the year on Fridays, but was moved to the Saurday spot before conference play started and has been nails ever since.

I think its like a mental thing or something.

Before I knew he had been pitching Saturdays I thought it was a smart move by VH. If you Throw Stanek Friday you risk getting beat by Nola. Throwing him Saturday gives you a lot better chance to take that game pretty much knowing you will lose Friday night. VH had confidence that his bullpen would win the game on Sunday. I thought it was the smartest way to face us honestly. Just my .02
