Big market in Seattle with no team. Makes sense for them.

So why did they lose the supersonics in the first place then with such a big market?

The team they are paying for is the Kings. I know they would be rebranded into the SuperSonics but it'd still be the Kings, just with a glossy new green and yellow paint job.

Because the knew owner said he would keep the team in Seattle, and then said haha tricked you.

Also the OKC owners flat out lied about their intentions for the team when they bought the Sonics

meh.

a couple of things:

stern appears to be on sactown's side and has said money doesn't have to be equal. relocation needs 22 yes votes.

and

extra $25million is nothing at this point. sacramento has the money to match if necessary.

this seems more like Hansen reiterating his desire for the next franchise available- either relocation or expansion.

Stern can just solve the problem by giving Seattle new team. Idiot. He'll go global soon, maybe not in his career since he is about to retire, but that is there intention. So. what's the harm in letting SAC keep there team and giving Seattle a new one? He said he would do that awhile back anyways.

i do find it odd that he went to great lengths to find someone to keep the hornets in nola but he will let the kings go to seattle when there is a local group wanting to keep them in sacramento

Six years ago the Sonics were sold for $200 million less than what is being offered for the Kings.

this can't be serious. Just give any city who wants a team a new one, huh? They need to eliminate teams, not water down the talent even more...

Bennett was a douche but anybody who believed he was actually gonna keep them in Seattle is foolish.
