I think some people are using the term fantasy very loosely

yeah

uncle buck
BMX bandits
karate kid

i could see where these are not fantasy but the rest were and lets face it kids on BMX bikes doing what they did in the movie (fantasy), and new jersey kid learning karate that fast and winning the tournament (fantasy)

Nobody has said Dune.

Labryinth - Not enough mentions. Great fricking movie. David Bowie FTW, Great Soundtrack.
The Princess Bride - Inconceivably great. Classic.
The Transformers Movie - Rodimus Prime. Great Soundtrack.

I saw a mention of Flight of the Navigator and although it is SciFi, still a great movie. Rewatched it last week and the special effects were brilliant and hold up to today's movies.

If a movie having unrealistic elements is your only criteria for fantasy then close to every movie ever created is fantasy.

I also disagree that goonies is fantasy. I think that it's action adventure.

I'm going to lend my support to dragonslayer.

If Raiders counts then that's my choice, I mean it did have ghosts melting nazis.

Didn't anybody else think Willow was a total ripoff of Star Wars. Basically all the same characters just set in a fantasy medieval time.

It was a ripoff mix of LOTR and Star Wars. Still good though.

wow. Was that the one with the "lake monster"?

Yup. I used to love that movie. And most people I know have never heard of if.

Man, I've been looking for the name of that movie for years! I watched it just as much as The Goonies.

Big Trouble In little China should at least be mentioned even if it may not be the best. I guess it also depends on if it it falls into the Fantasy genre.
