I was asked to go to the masters on Sat and Sun for a business trip. I was obviously low on the list since I was only asked Monday. I said no since I had some family stuff this weekend.

Will I regret this? Doubt I'll have another chance.

What was the family stuff? Chances are, yes, you will regret it big time but we need more information.

We're not in our house now since we have some plumbing issues. I'm fixing some pipes.
If I left for 3-4 days in the middle of that, I'd have to come back with divorce papers.

I won practice tickets last year and sold them for $1200. No regrets

I've never used this before, but I think it's appropriate.

You should have called a plumber and told your boss you'd be happy to go to Augusta. Particularly since your company was picking up the tab.

Yes, you should regret it. I'm not a huge in person sports guy. I usually prefer the comfort of my home and my hd TV, but having experienced Augusta for the first time this year, the experience exceeds the high expectations set by its reputation. I always assumed there was at least a bit of hyperbole in all of the praises heaped on the Masters, but it is even greater than words can describe. It sounds silly, but true. I will go back every chance I get.

I had no idea what they are worth. It was a business meeting, and I am low on the totem pole, so I assumed it wasn't a big deal.
I am not a golf guy by any means. I've gone way out of my way for baseball games, though.

You are an idiot. There are only a handful of things that would make me turn down weekend tickets to the masters

I am little concerned now of what your business partners will think of you turning down tickets to one of the most prominent sporting events in the world. Hopefully you are in a position that you enjoy, where you do not want to exceed your current professional status.

Now that they know you'll turn down tickets to the Masters without even considering it, no doubt your mystique at the company has gone through the roof.

They might think you're a secret agent or Batman or something.
